Hello everyone,
It has been a long time since I have written a blog and thought it was about time that I do. We have been busy working on building Joe a new GARAGE!!! You should see this thing, it's HUGE. Joe will now be able to build chassis and anything else his heart desires(can anyone say HOT ROD). I haven't taken any pictures of the garage as of yet but shall take some shortly. The garage still needs some work but at least it is completely weather proof now and has doors that lock.
Be safe everyone, and see you all soon.

Yup you read it correctly, the 17 car was sold today. Joe has decided to take on newer and bigger projects and will not be racing this year. One can never say if this is forever, but one thing is certain, it's rather difficult to race without a ride.
We will still be coming around the tracks from time to time but as spectators.
See you all around soon and happy Easter everyone!!!

I just updated the schedules for the 2006/2007 race season. I can't wait to head on over to the states and see those tracks in michigan. I see a few Sunday races and a few Friday races but that's ok. I updated the calendar to reflect the schedule as well so if you click on the arrows under the calendar and go to the month you want to see it will highlight the dates and create a quicklink to the speedway.

Thought you would like to see how the car Joe is building is coming along. I can't believe how fast he is building this thing considering he is doing most of the work alone. I help where I can but that consists mostly of getting him coffee and making fun of him when I can get down to the shop. All kidding aside it is a pleasure watching this maestro build the frame. Both Don and Joe have put alot of thought behind the frame and as you can see for yourself it looks GREAT!

Hi all,
sorry for the lack of updates.
It saddens me to say the race season is over and I missed the last 2 races. Joe finished the last race of the season in 7th place but according to Alice (my wife) it was miraculous Joe finished at all because the only thing holding the rear end of the 17 car was the battery cable. That's right Joe held the car together after someone hit him from behind with only 4 laps remaining to the end of the race.
I will try and get some photo's up this week of the last couple of races. That may prove to be difficult since I wasn't there but I will make a few calls and see what I can find.
Be safe everyone and have a happy Thanks Givings!!!

Hello everyone,
Sorry for the lack of updates but things have been busy for us recently. We were at the races this past weekend and had a real blast. Things were going really well in the feature until we ended up involved in a racing incident. Needless to say we were disappointed but these things happen so we will fix the 17 car one more time and be ready for the next race.
Chuck (96) was involved in a major tangle as well during his heat race. The car looked like it was a write off but since I am by no means a mechanic maybe it wasn't as bad as it looked. Chuck gave us quite a scare but was walking shortly after the incident. Either way we wish Chuck and his entire family all the best and we truly wish to see him back at the races as soon as is physically possible. I will try and post the last two weeks of races by the end of the week but I cannot promise anything since I am very busy at work these days. I also have some pictures of the feature warm ups when the cars were going by the start line 4 by 4.
Take care everyone,
Tim

...two by two the animals flocked to Noah's ark and then the RAIN BEGAN.
Yeppers it was a wet one yesterday so the races were cancelled for the first time this year. Other then honing in all our driving skills did any of you drive through Furgus? It's the first time I have ever seen the ravages of a tornado from up close. The only thing going through my mind as we drove by was, “I’m glad I wasn’t here yesterday. I’m glad I wasn’t here yesterday. I’m glad I wasn’t here yesterday.”.
We had a little surprise for last night but since some of you saw what it was I suppose I can let the cat out of the bag now. The 17 car has a weee bit of a new look. Joe and Don worked hard this week and made the 17 car look better. I didn’t think the 17 car could look any better but I was terribly wrong. The 17 car looks HOT!!! I may post some pictures later this week but I still want to keep a little suspense for next weekend.
Be safe everyone,
Tim

I finally took the time to code race results into the webpage! I entered all the race results data I have on hand. The race results data I am missing are from the first four races.
All results posted here are unofficial. Official results are posted on the CVM webpage. If you find discrepancies please be so kind as to send me an email and tell me what errors you have found. The race results can be found on the left side menu under Weekly Results

Well folks it didn’t rain at Mosport today giving us a really nice race day. It’s funny how our eyes play tricks on us; on our drive to the track the clouds seemed to be getting darker and darker as we were approaching our destination but oddly enough it wasn’t. Other then high humidity the day turned out to be rather nice.
We had a really great night. Joe started 10th in the feature and finished 3rd!!! He had a great race. 11 laps in Joe narrowly avoided a small pile up in turn 2. While the caution was out Joe quickly drove down pit lane as Don examined the car for any damage. Don took a quick look at the car and sent Joe on his way. Joe was now in last place 11 laps into the feature. You know the car had to be running well because lap after lap Joe was making his way up to the lead cars. With a few laps remaining Joe was in 2nd place behind the 9 car.
Joe was coming in hard into the corners, much harder then the 9 car but Steve was up front and he wasn’t going to let anyone pass him on the inside. As I have stated before, no guts no glory, Joe tried passing the 9 car kamikaze style on the outside. No sooner had Joe taken the high road the 14 car snuck in behind the 9 but Joe wasn’t quite able to pass from the outside and had to fall in behind the 14 car to secure a 3rd place finish.
Watching Joe go from the back of the pack to the front of it was SPECTACULAR. This was a very entertaining race and I wish more were like this one with one little exception, I wish Joe could have taken the checkered flag.

Howdy everyone,
I cannot believe what a nice Saturday we had. Not too hot, not too cold, just a really nice blue skied summer day. Everyone has endured sweltering weather this summer and I must admit all drivers impress me when they hop into their searing cars with their fire suites. I sometimes wonder why everyone comes back weekend after weekend but the answer is simple; we come back because we want to win.
The car needed a little TLC because of last weekend's bumper rash. Joe and Don did what they do best and got the car running just right.
During the heat race Joe was hit from behind (just a little race bumping) and his bumper made contact with 9's rear tire which pushed the 9 car into the infield. I guess these things happen but we never like it when it does. The bumper on Joe's car was slightly damaged as was the front clip but that was quickly fixed after the heat race was over.
Joe had a nice feature race and finished 6th. Like everybody else on the track, we wanted to win but didn't. Could the car have run better? Of course it could have, but had we won I wouldn't be writing these little anecdotes :). Don and Joe figured out what the problem with the motor was after the race (of course)and we should be ready to take the checkered flag this coming weekend at Mosport.
It was nice to see the 19 car take the win closely followed by Ron's 00 car.
Have a great week everyone and see you all at Mosport!

Mosport is a really nice track, with long straight-aways and very tight corners. During our prep runs and even during the heat race (which Joe finished in 3rd place), the car simply was not handling as the team wanted it to. You have to hand it to Don and Joe, this duo really knows their stuff and with a few wrenches and keen eyes they set the car up perfectly.
Joe started 8th in the feature race and easily out throttled and out drove the competition to victory lane!!
YES you heard me correctly; Joe won his second feature race of the season!!! The whole team was ecstatic as Joe crossed the finished line unchallenged. Kudo's must be given to the 6 car for staying on Joes bumper for about 15 laps, but when Joe had 5 laps to go the 6 car was just about half a lap down from him and the rest of the pack was about a third of a lap behind the 6.
Everyone ran a great race with not one caution brought out during the feature.
We wish to thank our sponsor TCE once again because without them we wouldn't have been racing this year.

It was a really wet drive up to Sauble and we really didn't think there would have been any racing today.
Once we got within 12km of Sauble the sun poked its weary head out and the rest of the day was rather pleasant.
Alas driving up with the car in the rain caused us a few ground issues which prevented us from finishing our heat race.
Thankfully the issues were found before the heat race allowing to race. I suppose luck wasn't on everyones side tonight since
there were multiple crashes and for some reason or another while Joe was in 4th position going strong for first but more technical problem prevented us from winning. We finished 6th which is very respectable. The Lyons 9 car ran hard all weekend and won both at Kwartha and at Sauble, Congrats on the victory and see you next weekend!!! Tim |

Another heat race Victory for Joe!!!
Peterborough is a really nice track. The pits are clean, every car has a concrete parking space and there are bleachers for the crew.
The green flag was waved and the races started.
It didn't take Joe long to get the lead. Starting from 4th place Joe passed the competition with ease and was leading the pack after the second lap.
Both driver and car were well tuned today and we were planning on winning the feature race.
As always Joe knew what needed to be done and was determined to win both races tonight. You could see the look in his eyes before
both races, the look that said no had better be infront of him tonight.
Starting 9th in the feature race, 5 laps in Joe was battleling for first place
with the 29 car. The crowd was cheering as Joe tried high and low to get around the car who so desperately clung onto first place. 10 laps, 15 laps,
20 laps went by but Joe couldn't pass the 29 car. Anyone who knows the Arsenault family will be the first to say second place is never an option. Joe went high
and tried passing the 29 car from the top lane. No gutts no glory right? Well no glory tonight, Joe's attempt to win the race cost him 5 places making him finish
in 6th place.
Joe could have easily held onto 2nd place but chose to risk it all for the win.
This was a good clean race and we wish to extend our congrats to the 29 car for his feature win.
See you all next weekend at the races!!!
